Collection One

The First Collection in the Mintel Archive contains the very first WFMT broadcast series of 13 weekly radio programs containing recordings of concerts by Chicago’s Music of the Baroque. Most of the volumes in this Collection contain commentary by Music Director, Tom Wikman, about the musical compositions, the performance venues, the performers and the like. This series was syndicated and heard nationwide over hundreds of classical music stations across the country. The broadcasts were syndicated in 1987. This Collection contains two major oratorios by G. F. Handel: Athalia and Theodora.; it also contains The Mass in B minor by J. S. Bach as well as several Bach cantatas.
