Collection Three

The Third Collection in the Mintel Archive contains the third WFMT broadcast series of 13 weekly radio programs of concerts by Chicago’s Music of the Baroque under the direction of Music Director and Conductor, Thomas Wikman.  Most of the volumes in this Collection also contain commentary about the musical compositions, the performance venues and the performers. This series was syndicated and heard worldwide over hundreds of classical music radio stations. The broadcasts were syndicated in 1989 and contain works by Johann Sebastian Bach – Christmas Oratorio, the St. John Passion and several cantatas.  Handels’ oratorios: Hercules, Acis & Galetea and Alexander’s Feast are included in this Collection as well. There is also a special bonus in Volume 5 containing a unique performance of orchestral music by Jean-Féry Rebel.
